When Lack of Color Makes an Impact

As much as I love color, I also have a strong love for black and white interiors especially when it comes to great use of materials and design details. Just like my outfits, when it comes to black and white I like interiors that accessorize with gold or silver metal details.

What about you? Are you into colors or black and white when it comes to interiors?

More from The Coveteur

Just wanted to share these images from The Coveteur shoot! My new place looks so different since The Coveteur team came to my place when I had just moved in. Just to name a few, that mini dining table below was from my old apartment which was a bit smaller than my new place so it's been replaced and the faux fireplace wall has been painted and is being used as my DJ station.
When I'm done with all of my travels (or when I'm in LA for at least a week or so) I'll share some other new changes I made to the house!

Hope you guys are having a fabulous week! I had just now arrived to New York from Aruba for NYFW so I'll be sharing my adventure on the blog and on instagram (@songofstyle!)
Love, Aimee

The Coveteur x Aimee Song

How excited I was when Erin, Stephanie, Stacie, and Jake from The Coveteur stopped by my new place one early morning! I had recently just moved in and due to my travels I didn't unpack until literally three days before the shoot so the place looks quite different from then (I've since painted the walls, have new furniture, etc...) but nonetheless, I had an amazing time with them and have to say, I am so honored to have been Coveteur'd!

You can check out the rest of the feature here on The Coveteur.

Morning Chill in My Bedroom

The first thing I normally do when I move into a new place (even if it's a rental) is painting. This is the longest I've gone in a new place without painting since I've been traveling non-stop since I moved in. You don't know how much I've been wishing I had time to paint as the original paint in the bedroom was not much different from the color of a dehydrated pee (see here.) Now that I'm back home for a week or so, I finally got around to painting my bedroom. I wanted it to feel super fresh and serene but didn't want to go with the typical white so I chose Valspar Morning Chill. Even though the bedroom isn't complete (I still need to hang curtains, art, etc...) I'm super happy with my paint color choice. I'm not going to lie, there are times when I'm working on my client's homes and I end up not liking the color I had initially chosen. I'm sure this happens to a lot of people and for those who are quite unsure with what paint color you'd like or if you ever have second thoughts about your paint colors after you've painted, you can try the Valspar Love Your Color Gaurantee where they offer a complimentary replacement color to anyone who does not absolutely love their first color choice.

Welcome to My House Party Party

About two months ago (time flies!) I moved into a new place (well, Wesley Mason moved everything while I was in Spain), but truth be told, due to all of my travels, I've only stayed in this new place for a total of 15 days and only recently finished unpacking. By no means does that mean I'm done decorating. I still have to paint the place and get a new sofa, curtains, etc... but since I was in town and so were my friends, I decided to throw a little holiday party.

To be honest, I'm kind of embarrassed to show you the unfinished decor but I thought it would be interesting to show you the process and how I prepared for my little party!
Hope you enjoy the photos! xoxo

Holiday Dinner with Kelly Wearstler

With the holiday comes a bunch of dinner parties and if you're hosting this year, here is an amazing inspiration from my favorite, Kelly Wearstler. She teamed up with Vogue to create an imaginary dinner party and I love all the personalized name cards and objects for each 'imaginary' guest she created.
I've been to one of her dinner parties before (this post) and I have to say, everything was so well thought out and you can see her touch in even the littlest thing.

Do you guys have any exciting holiday plans?
